あらすじ（英語）
Reverend Jedidiah Mercer rides into a small hole in the woods town called Wood Tick following his god-quest (the Old Testament GOD, not that lovey-dovey New Testament god either!) to see a young man locked in the jail-wagon and kids throwing rocks at him. His crime? Being crazy. After risking food poisoning by eating "with" the sheriff the Reverend frees the young man and rides with him to his squat-homestead to investigate the wild story of a monster that ate his common-law wife.
