あらすじ（英語）
Young (18-yo) Ishmael Horatio Wang ("Call me Ishmael"), orphaned by the accidental death of his mother, signs on board the Solar Clipper (frieghter) <i>Lois McKendrick</i> and starts to find a new home there. A coming-of-age story, recalling Dana's <i>Two Years Before the Mast</i>. As a new crew member, Wang has a "Quarter Share" post, but plans to rise to Half Share, Full Share, and Double Share in time.
